It is with a feeling of deja vu that we look upon yet another Prime Minister succumbing to the lure of the skies. If you cannot afford to buy a plane (at this present point in time) then surely it is economical to rent.

As a proud and active T&T citizen who loves and cares about my country, I hereby call on MP Errol Mc Leod, Senator Patrick Watson, Ambassador Makandaal Daaga and Senator David Abdulah to resign immediately and allow the People’s Partnership Government to quickly complete its current self...

My heart bleeds for those farmers whose crops were mercilessly bulldozed by agents of the Ministry of Housing. I am extremely angered by the savage and cruel use of armed force against these folks whose only crime was to earn an honest living and provide wholesome food for us.

I would like to ask Port-of-Spain Mayor Louis Lee Sing what would be the criteria for booking a reservation at the proposed “five-star” hotel for vagrants in the capital city?

Well, the one-dayers are well underway and the West Indies has convincingly lost the first two matches.

The horrifying front page news stories about the bulldozing of valuable crops of sweet potatoes, cassava, pumpkin and bodi valued at many thousands of dollars is a tragic event that has revealed shades of the PNM.

I can’t help but comment on the poor attendance at the two limited overs matches between the West Indies and Pakistan at the Beausejour Stadium in St Lucia.

This is to correct two inaccuracies in a letter by one Solomon John (“Hyatali suffering from cricket tabanca,” April 22). Firstly, I have never been a member of the Friends of Cricket group as stated by John.

There can only be one reasonable argument that can be used to justify the horror meted out to farmers at D’Abadie and Egypt which, according to one government source in the media, is that “the farmers were issued with notices two years ago.” I am against lawlessness of any kind...

A few years ago, I wrote about deceptive practices at TSTT. Among them were the fact that TSTT was charging cell phone customers at the peak before 7 am (when the peak rate is supposed to start) and charging VAT twice for pre-paid calls.

The Leader of the Opposition, Dr Keith Rowley, is showing every day that the PNM has a leadership problem. He never ceases to amaze me. In true attack style, Rowley barks at everything no matter how insignificant ... or shadowy.

Wednesday, April 27, 2011

The division of votes within the PNM ranks has once more brought to the fore a debate on coalition politics versus a one-party government towing a party line.

I find it very suspicious that a “source” would “reveal” the Government’s decision to charter a Caribbean Airlines jet to attend the Brazil meetings, which the Prime Minister discussed and promoted in the past few weeks.
