The band Orange Sky is one of the best choices to represent the true diversity of the talent of the people of T&T. For too long Carnival, calypso and steel pan have been our representations.

I sat down on Saturday night to watch the T20 game between T&T and Canada. I love my country and always support it in whatever sporting or cultural event we are participating.

In the past, coming into Port-of-Spain to do business was a stress as finding a place to park my car was very difficult. Then came the Parkade on Edward Street and it was a welcome relief.

It is greatly disturbing to see the disappointing level of intelligence and tact being displayed by Attorney General Anand Ramlogan of the PP administration. The extremist obsession with Patrick Manning is still on the front burner of the PP Government’s political layout.

Wednesday, January 19, 2011

Once more Attorney General Anand Ramlogan, in his undying quest to make more news than Glenn Ramadhar-singh, has embarrassed himself and his Prime Minister over a “missing” grand piano. Ramlogan continues to make blunder after blunder.

Wednesday, January 19, 2011

When the Prime Minister appointed Anand Ramlogan as Attorney General, I didn’t think it to be too bad a choice since he appeared to have a good handle on the law and had made a name for himself in the field. However, it has been all downhill since then.

In my humble opinion, both the Government and the Public Services Association (PSA) need to carry out negotiations in a mature manner and work towards a speedy resolution in the ongoing wage dispute.

Monday, January 17, 2011

In what can be described as a bittersweet error made by the ever so popular Attorney General, it is not farcical to state that he has made yet another grand error where the “missing” piano is concerned.

Some months ago, I had to renew my children’s passports, and I must say it was a pleasurable experience. Everything went smoothly, contrary to what I had heard before. The officers and staff were very pleasant, helpful and efficient.

I am appealing to the authorities to please address the growing crime situation in the Petit Valley area.
There is a group of young boys who are bent on terrorising law-abiding citizens. It is said that the oldest member of this gang has not reached his 18th year.

There was a recent suggestion to move horse racing from the present location in Arima to the abandoned location in Caroni and, having been involved in racing for the past 78 years, I wish to comment on this.

Prof Selwyn Cudjoe in his column of January 6, came to the conclusion that his niece Becky may have a point when she expressed to him that Minister Dr Suruj Rambachan is a racist (even though he did not mention a name, my reading between the lines leads me to believe it was Rambachan he was...

The recent heavy rain and subsequent flooding that occurred throughout Trinidad and Tobago highlights not only the poor, dangerous infrastructure (roads, bridges, drains, canals, rivers) in the country but more importantly the chronic poverty that people are experiencing.  It also highlights the...

Open letter to Jack Warner, Minister of Works and Transport: I write publicly since letters sent to your office are never acknowledged. I am certain that I can speak for the entire Borough of Arima and those who must visit Arima for whatever reasons.

I have been watching the debate on the issue regarding the priest putting out a band for Carnival. I listened and read alot of the comments for and against this act. It seems to me that the level of hypocrisy in Trinidad is so high that no one seems to see the clear picture now.
