First Citizens Investment Services (FCIS) launched their new international on-line and mobile investment service offering—Global Investment Solutions (GIS) at the Banquet and Conference Centre, Movie Towne, Port of Spain earlier this month. The service is in partnership with Pershing LLC a subsidiary of The Bank of New York Mellon, one of the world's leading providers of securities services.

In his welcome to the exclusive clients in attendance, the deputy CEO–Banking Operations, Larry Nath stated that “this service that mirrors the spirit and personality of the First Citizens brand in being innovative and pioneering.” Pershing’s Director, responsible for Global Clients, Florent Rigaud, was present and expressed his delight in partnering with the First Citizens Group on this project and was encouraged by the potential of the Trinidad and Tobago market.

The General Manager, FCIS, Jason Julien provided the audience with an overview of the state of the world economy and the current challenges for the local investor. “What is the local investor to do in this current climate of low investment yields and weakening TT dollar? Global Investment Solutions is part of the solution to these challenges.”

Daniel Youssef, Head of Investment Advisory and Business Development, described GIS as providing two service offerings to clients: “Invest with Guidance”—a brokerage service for clients who require support and/or do not have the time to undertake the responsibility of trading and; “Invest on your Own”—for the market savvy clients who can engage in the new online trading platform; which can also be accessed from your mobile phone.

FCIS in conjunction with bmobile provided on-site demonstrations of the GIS service and is offering the first 100 clients to sign up for the service a 15 per cent discount on any Samsung Galaxy smart phone or tablet device from bmobile.
