Extras wanted for Queen of Soca film
Queen of Soca, a local fictional drama about a teenage ghetto girl from Laventille using her singing talent to get her out of an impoverished life, is looking for extras of all ages and sizes to be part of this exciting production. The film is an immersion in Carnival culture, and it stars local singing sensation Teri Lyons, above, along with a cast of top local actors including Penelope Spencer, Michael Cherrie, Kearn Samuel, and popular soca performer Denise Belfon. Queen of Soca was written and will be directed by Kevin Adams. Carla Foderingham and the Trinidad & Tobago Film Company take on the role of executive producer, while Nigel Thompson of Black Ice Production will produce the drama.
Queen of Soca is being shot on location in Trinidad, and is expected to do extremely well in cinemas both here and overseas, and at regional and international film festivals. The film incorporates two initiatives, youth and education, as well as arts and culture, and is currently employing and training youths as interns and production assistants in the departments of sound, lighting, directing, cinematography, art direction and script development through the Trinidad & Tobago Film Company.
