All roads lead to Point Fortin this weekend as the 31st edition of Borough Day celebrations heat up with two of the biggest events of the year. After viewing the delegates of the Miss Point Fortin Borough Beauty Pageant on Friday, the Fanny Village Community Centre is the place to be for the annual Liverpool Fete, held by D Krewe. A day later on Sunday, Artikal Entertainment answers patrons request with the second ever Soca & Ice Cooler Fete at Farell Street, Cap-de-ville.
D Krewe promises that this year’s Liverpool Fete will be one of the biggest in the 13 years the event has been held.
Top notch artistes, such as 2011 and 2012 International Power Soca Monarch runner-up Neil “Iwer” George and Mr Trouble himself, Shal S Marshall, assured that they are ready to bring down the house. Big band Roy Cape All Stars, featuring Blaxx, is set to repeat its outstanding performance from last year, one which left many of the young, mature and foreign audience breathless. Tickets, priced at $125, are on sale at Brothers Fashion, Legend Sports Bar, Benjamin’s and D Krewe committee members.
Parking will be provided at the Fanny Village Recreational Ground. The party runs from 11 pm to 7 am. Soca & Ice Cooler Fete, the party which has been dubbed as the Borough’s ultimate cooler gathering, is undoubtedly a people’s favourite. On Sunday, patrons will be feting from 3 pm to midnight. According to party promoter, Fayola Deenoon: “The motto that drives Artikal Entertainment is simple, ‘Don’t lose sight of the paying patrons’ needs’, and so, at Soca & Ice Cooler Fete 2012, patrons can expect to have a wonderful time.” All coolers must be inside the venue before 6 pm, and no glass bottles are allowed. This is an advanced ticket-only event so you can get your tickets from any Artikal Entertainment committee members.
