PP anniversary rally tremendous success

Congratulations are due to the People’s Partnership for its second anniversary rally, which was a tremendous success by any standard. Errol McLeod’s contribution was regrettably truncated when he wound up on the arrival of the Prime Minister. He was speaking masterfully and one was enjoying his address.

Jack Warner’s contribution elicited the popularity he enjoys from the public and his detractors must be sad. Prakash Persad’s public griping was ill-befitting the occasion and his declaration of COP’s intent to contest every election was difficult to interpret in the context. Makandal Daaga’s emotional speech was colourful but heartfelt.

Ashworth Jack was solid and reassuring and one looks forward to his marching over a supine London bridge. David Abdulah’s absence spoke volumes of his wretchedness and McLeod’s eloquence was substitutionary. Kamla Persad-Bissessar displayed a robustness that must have been difficult to sustain, but hopefully her health is improving. In a word, her contribution was sensational. Her recital of delivered benefits to the plantation while the port was complaining blindly was instructive.

The Government has indeed delivered far in excess of expectations and more is to follow. Her announcements were significant and welcome. The two-year-old PP has outperformed its aged predecessors by strides. Its annual account of its short stewardship is welcome and clearly its support base is reassured.
