Outgoing principal receives high praises

The teachers of the Palmiste Government school spent their last Christmas with two of the school’s beloved members of staff on Friday, when a special luncheon was held for outgoing principal, Ramoudhar Sewdass, and teacher, Baby Dookie. An emotional teacher, Muniram Sookdeo, was in high praise of Sewdass, whom she said would be missed after almost a decade of service to the children of the Central School.
Sookdeo said under Sewdass’s tenure, several improvements had been made to the school, including the establishment of a steelpan theatre and a computer laboratory. The staff also praised Dookie for her role in nuturing young learners, and developing their singing abilities. Both Sewdass and Dookie will retire early in the new year.
