As the price of gold goes up on the world market, Valdez and Torry International (VTI) continues to top up its gold count at the annual Addy Awards, the advertising industry’s most comprehensive and prestigious competition. The company won six gold and four silver Addy awards, as well as the Judge’s Choice Award for Copywriting. The Caribbean Advertising Federation (CAF) president, Christopher Guinness, this month announced the winners of the 2012 Addy Awards. The CAF is a member of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), which represents thousands of advertising companies in the US and the Caribbean.
The Addy Awards is sponsored by the AAF and recognises creative excellence in numerous categories of various media types. This year, over 420 entries were judged from over 30 different companies representing Puerto Rico, The Bahamas, Jamaica, US Virgin Islands, St Lucia and T&T. VTI’s presidents, Steven Valdez and Christian Torry, said they were overjoyed and extremely proud of the VTI team. Valdez noted: “We have once again shown we are among the best in the region.” He commended VTI’s executive creative director, Lisa Ann Williams and her team for their dedication. The result, he said, “is evident by the recognition VTI continues to receive locally and internationally.”
Torry noted that “our strength lies in the dynamism of our employees. We are visionaries who keep on top of the latest trends in the industry and so we consistently produce fresh and innovative campaigns. “These awards are not just about VTI, they have allowed us to showcase Trinidad and Tobago as having some of the best creative talent in the region and we are honoured to have been able to do this. “I would like to also sincerely thank our clients for their support and for their confidence in Valdez and Torry International,” Torry said.
VTI’s winning clients in the 2012 awards are Scotiabank Trinidad and Tobago Limited, Ministry of Energy and Energy Affairs, The Tourism Development Company Limited (TDC), Guardian Asset Management Limited, UNAIDS, The Urban Development Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago (UDeCOTT) and the Advertising Agencies Association of Trinidad and Tobago (AAATT).
