Makeup the CHI’c way

Makeup that’s looks flawless and natural, stays intact all day and feels light-allowing your skin to breathe, is what every woman dreams of. 

Wendy Chindra of Chiology Bonded by Beauty USA thinks she may have found the answer. The T&T born US resident has created a new line of skin care and beauty products, including the high-end makeup line CHI’c. At a launch of the product at the Hyatt Regency, Wrightson Road Port-of-Spain, last month, Chindra demonstrated her work of art on models, with the line of mineral makeup and herbal skin products. She says the line is a holistic approach to beauty basics and are made from all natural ingredients like green tea, chamomile, aloe vera, cucumber, honey and mint. Chindra says when she began working on the CHI’c line she wanted something that would reflect her personality. Something that was authentic, safe and animal friendly- just all natural. 

 

 

“I wanted to create the very best that would fit all women regardless of their ethnicity, beliefs or lifestyle.” She gave a sneak-peak of her summer collection, which includes the Carnival Veils- Hollywood inspired Carnival makeup. Made with shimmer, and water-proofed, she says it gives the classic Carnival look without the hassle of having to do any re-applications. Chindra, who is the daughter of former chairman of Princess Town Regional Corporation, Winston Chindra, began a career in the financial sector, but her real passion for beauty steered her in another direction. She credits her expertise to local makeup artist Kamla Koon-How, from whom she received her basic training. Now with more than 15 years of experience in the beauty industry she has even began motivating women on how to look and feel great about themselves through what she calls, reinvention workshops, which will soon be held in T&T. “These workshops teach women how to feel beautiful from the inside out. My true passion is to instill in women the ability to embrace their inner-beauty, while looking and feeling their very best.” 

 

 

Taking care of beauty needs 

“This line has from makeup to toners all the way down to serums. Anything you can possibly think of that enhances the beauty of a woman, this line’s got it. And the best part is you are taking care of your skin even when you wear the makeup, because that is what it was created to do,” says Chindra. Boasting of a sophisticated and popular clientele, Chindra says her makeup artistry has been trusted by Hollywood celebrities like actress and model Erica Shaffe. “I even did our PM’s (Kamla Persad-Bissessar) makeup before she became the PM,” said Chindra with a grin. For now the products are only available at Carmen’s Boutique in Princess Town. “The product is still very new to the local market. We have been having discussions with spas and beauty boutiques that want to carry the brand. As I said before CHI’c is a high-end product so you would not find it in the regular cosmetic stores. You can either order online or purchase them at advertised locations,” said Chindra. “You really do feel beautiful and confident wearing this makeup and I am sure anyone who gives it a try will testify to that. There is a rock star in every woman and CHI’c will bring that out.”
