Chaguanas mayor warns: Beware fraud at new mall
Chaguanas Mayor Orlando Nagessar has warned of fraudulent activities at the new vendors’mall in the borough, including someone who is going around collecting fees for lights and cleaning. Nagessar, who spoke with the media on Tuesday following a tree-lighting ceremony at the new facility on the Chaguanas Main Road, said the mall was made available to 250-plus vendors from December 10 to use at no charge until the end of January 2011.
The mayor said he has launched an investigation into the matter. He also warned vendors about using too much electrical equipment since the facility is not designed to handle too much load. Nagessar and Chaguanas West MP Jack Warner turned on the switch to light a mango tree that is being used as a Christmas tree at the venue.
