15 nominees for Anthony Sabga award

Fifteen nominees have been named for the Anthony N Sabga Caribbean Awards for Excellence by the Country Nominating Committee. The committee comprising Dr David Singh (Guyana), Dr Basil Springer (Barbados), Brian Lewis (T&T) Barbara Gloudon (Jamaica), and Ambassador Charles Maynard (OECS) presented the names at Tatil Building, Maraval yesterday to an Eminent Persons Panel, which makes the final selection.
Once the nominations are assessed and candidates identified, the committee will select its three best candidates. Candidates will be judged in three categories—Arts and Letters, Public, Science and Technology and Public and Civic Contributions, with each winner taking home a $500,000 award, a medal and a citation at a ceremony to be held in April. The prizes are fully funded by the ANSA McAL Foundation. The Caribbean Awards for Excellence is the first of its kind in the English-speaking Caribbean.
