Thieves break into 2 churches
An undisclosed sum of money, representing collection, was stolen from the Point Fortin RC Church over the weekend. The discovery was made on Sunday when worshippers went to the church located along the Guapo/Cap-de-Ville Main Road for the morning Mass.
Electronic items also were stolen. Police said the burglars cut the locks on the door on the northern side of the building to gain entry. At Siparia, thieves also broke into the Presbyterian Church sometime on Saturday night and escaped with a public address system and two UPS backup batteries. The discovery also was made on Sunday morning by worshippers. South Western Division Police are investigating both incidents. (YW)
