Akiel Simon (not the former Express reporter facing gun and robbery-related charges) was yesterday granted $50,000 bail when he appeared in the San Fernando Magistrates Court charged with stealing cable from Petrotrin.
Simon, 20, of Carenage, pleaded not guilty when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Indra Ramoo-Haynes. The charge alleges that on July 31 he stole a quantity of electrical cable valued $7,000 and $6,000 from the store room on Petrotrin’s Pointe-a-Pierre compound. He was charged by acting Cpl Steve Williams. He is expected to reappear in court on August 30.
