Latest: Taxi driver shot dead in Diego Martin

Police are now reporting three murders in the last 12 hours.

The latest incident took place this morning in Diego Martin when a taxi driver, identified as Andy Bailey, was shot dead at Patna Village. Another man, identified as Kerron Paul, was injured. The incident took place at 8.35 am.

Police are also investigating the murder of a police officer's son at Quarry Street, Diego Martin on Sunday night. A pregnant woman was shot and injured in that incident.

The victim was one of two overnight murders being investigated by police.

In the second incident, police were called out to Righteous Lane, Pinto Road, Arima shortly after midnight after a man, identified only as Small Lumps, was killed.

The murder toll now stands at 44.
