In-form Daley makes moves in ICC rankings

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates—All-rounder Shanel Daley’s form against Sri Lanka has seen her make huge strides in the latest International Cricket Council One-Day International rankings released yesterday. The 23-year-old left-hander was the leading run-getter in the just concluded three-match series in the Caribbean, gathering 150 runs with two half-centuries. She also snared six wickets an average of 14 with her left-arm medium pace. As a result, Daley jumped 14 spots in the batting rankings to 22nd and rose two places in the bowlers rankings to 11th. More importantly, the Jamaican is now fourth in the all-rounders rankings after leaping four places.
 
Meanwhile, West Indies captain Merissa Aguilleira has jumped five places to 12th in the batting rankings while off-spinner Anisa Mohammed moved one spot into sixth place in the bowlers rankings. Seamer Shakera Selman is now 17th in the bowlers rankings after rising four places. West Indies won the three-match series 2-1. West Indies opener Stafanie Taylor remains the world number one batsman and the top all-rounder, despite dropping one place to seventh in the bowling rankings. (CMC)
