It could not have happened in a more perfect setting as the Super Industrial Services Limited Super Ten Industrial Cricket League came to end at the Plipdeco ground in Point Lisas last Friday. The two teams vying for the right to become champions were the always dangerous T&TEC and league hosts Super Industrial Services Limited; who already claimed one title when they won the round robin tournament on opening day. Both teams were brimming with confidence having performed well during the league; T&TEC being undefeated thus far and SIS with just one loss during the Group Stage. After winning the toss SIS choose to bat and were questioning their decision when after the fifth over they were struggling at thirteen for two, Riad Adams doing the early damage for T&TEC claiming both openers. It was left up to in-form batsman Randy Ramsahai to attempt a repair and he went about doing this with the usual clout he’s displayed on many bowling attacks he’s faced thus far.

Ramsahai pounded an almost perfect T&TEC attack hitting four sixes to give a much needed boost to the SIS total and scored a game high thirty two as he helped his team to fifty-nine runs after ten overs. SIS knew their bowling needed to be on point if they were to stand a chance of defending their modest total. They had the worst possible start when their usually cheap opening bowler, Shiva Sakawat, went for twenty one runs in the first over and even though he claimed a wicket, the damage was done and the pressure never let up for the rest of the innings. They held their nerve though and kept a tight rein on the T&TEC batsmen.
Earlier in the day, Industrial Plant Services Limited and PCS Nitrogen played in the third place playoff. PCS Nitrogen batted first and scored sixty four for six with top scores coming from Edison Sagram (21) and Yudesh Sooklal (13). IPSL AUM in reply were only able to manage thirty nine runs due in part to some very tight bowling from PCS Nitrogen with captain Byron Ramkissoon top scoring with eleven runs.
