Rajindra Dhanraj scored 90 and grabbed five wickets.

Just one point separates two top teams in the Colfire Southern Championship and this weekend’s matches will be very keenly contested as Diamond United and CSP Valients bid to become champions. CSP Valients are currently on top of the standings with 227 points and they are followed closely by F&E Diamond United who are on 226. Last weekend the leadership changed hands, as Diamond’s game against Evergreen was badly affected by rain, while CSP Valients got the better of Dow Village by an innings and 102 runs at La Romaine.

Batting first, Dow made 91 all out with Junior Gibbs taking 4/20 and Akeil Timothy 3/21. In reply, Valients made 250 all out, as Mervyn Wells struck a wonderful 108 and Richard Alfred got 60. In their second turn at the crease, Dow made just 57 runs, as Keiron Lynch 3/17 and Xavier Gabriel 5/33 proved too much to handle. Diamond on the other hand grabbed first innings points over Evergreen at Kennedy Park. Diamond scored 203 all out with the consistent Ricardo Jadoonath scoring 62. The home team bowlers then routed Evergreen for just 103 when the game was called off as a draw.
