Guardian Media, Carib Brewery dominate

Carib Brewery emerged winners of the annual ANSA McAL Sports and Family Day celebrations, the event themed Going Global...The ANSA McAL Way 2012, held at St Mary’s Ground, Serpentine Road, Port-of-Spain, on Sunday. Eighteen ANSA McAL subsidiaries took part in the day’s events with each company taking the theme of a country. The sporting activities began with the March Past/Pass By parade of teams in which Guardian Media Ltd emerged champions, representing Jamaica and portraying Jamaican culture, such as the traditional and reggae dances.

Second was ANSA McAL head office, with their portrayal of Australia and Abel Building Solutions placing third representing China. In the Brazilian Conga line/musical chairs, which had almost all subsidiaries taking part, Carib Brewery was first followed by Alstons Shipping and Abel Building Solutions in second and third respectively. The Cuban Congorie or sack race  saw Tatil/ANSA Merchant jumping to goal followed by Abel Building in second and Guardian Media Ltd hopping in for third. In the finals of the Trinbago Tug-of-War, Tobago Marketing Company were dominant on their side of the rope and gave opponents Carib no chance in both rounds of the best-in-three-finals.  
 
 
The following are the companies, with their represented countries, in which they took part the March Past: MBM/ CIL/SE (Japan), Standard Distributors Ltd (Argentina), Guardian Media Ltd (Jamaica), Head Office/Grand Bazaar/ Windsor (Australia), Abel Building Solutions (China), Carib Brewery Ltd (Brazil), Alstons Marketing Co Ltd (Ireland), ANSA Automotive (South Africa), Carib Glassworks Ltd (Italy), ANSA Polymer Ltd (Scotland), Tatil/ ANSA Merchant (Spain), Alstons Shipping Ltd (Nigeria) and ANSA Technology (Syria). Tobago Marketing Co (India), Trinidad Match Ltd (Mexico), Sissons/ Penta Paints Ltd (Lebanon), ANSA Chemicals (England) and ANSA McAL Group Employees Credit Union (France) took part in the Sports Day, but did not contest the March Past.
