Cricket bowls off at Sugar and Energy Festival

The cricket competitions of the Sugar and Energy Festival 2012 bowled off with great enthusiasm in the windball and hardball competitions. The Point Lisas Chamber of Commerce hosts this festival every two years highlighting the tremendous talent that exists withinthe Central region. This year, the windball competition showcases 14 communities and teams. The windball competition takes place nightly with the quarterfinalist being determined at the end of the round robin stages. 
 
Additionally, the Chamber launched its 15/15 Over hardball cricket competition which takes pace on  weekday evenings. The semifinals of this competition takes place tomorrow from 4.00 pm and the final  on Saturday, at Gilbert Park, Couva.
This year’s competitions are being co-ordinated by well known cricket administrator in the Central region, Mishri Lutcmedial. Cash prizes in excess of $10,000 is being generated by businessmen of the Chamber, with assistance being expected from the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs.
