Rhonda first to win gold in field event

First of all, congratulations to Keshorn Walcott for his fantastic come-from-behind, last-gasp victory in the javelin at the World Junior Championships in Spain. Well done, young man. However, I’m reading and hearing that Walcott is the first T&T athlete to win gold at a global meet in a field event. But the last time I heard, the long jump is a field event and females are athletes, too. So that honour goes to Rhonda Watkins who won the long jump at the 2006 World Juniors in Beijing, China.
